MJF’s absence from AEW television had wrestling fans speculating about his future, especially since his last appearance was at AEW Worlds End last year. However, all that speculation ended when MJF made a triumphant return at AEW Double or Nothing last week. Interestingly, he’s now facing criticism for not choosing to join WWE and instead remaining with AEW.

Amidst a dramatic video unveiling a corridor adorned with his relics, MJF finally made his highly anticipated return at Double or Nothing, disrupting Adam Cole’s presence in the ring. Wasting no time, he hit a low blow on Adam Cole and effectively ended his storyline with The Devil.

On the Gigantic Pop podcast, Matt Morgan expressed his disappointment in MJF’s decision to remain with AEW instead of moving to WWE. He argued that The Salt of the Earth would have achieved significant success in WWE instead of staying in AEW, where he is just the biggest fish in the smallest pond.

I get you wanna be the superhero of AEW. You wanna be the biggest fish possible in the smallest pond possible. You’re bigger than this, MJF. You could be the biggest fish there. I wish he would have went there. I really do wish he would have went to WWE because he is a talent that not could have just swam. I think he could have like sharked on people. I think he could have ate tons of people in that company on promos, on the microphone, and in the ring, that company being WWE. I really wanted to see him go there.”
