Jack Perry made his way to NJPW a while ago and shocked fans with his performance there, but his AEW return was inevitable as he came back at Dynasty last month. In fact, The Young Bucks have revealed how they prepared Perry for his NJPW run after All In.

Jack Perry’s run in NJPW this year did wonders for his promo skills and character work, which has been on full display on AEW television as he is now officially a member of The Elite and wreaks havoc every week.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated, The Young Bucks talked about Jack Perry’s plight following AEW All In last year. Matt Jackson noted that Perry dealt with a lot of issues, so he and Nick Jackson empathized with Perry and helped launch his comeback.

“Jack unfairly ate crap for a very long time,” said Matt Jackson. “So we had a lot of empathy for him, and we were very excited to help launch his comeback.”

Matt Jackson shared insights on how he and his brother supported Jack Perry by advising him on how to succeed in New Japan Pro Wrestling and they eventually met in a private jet, where Perry vented out his frustrations.

“We kept an eye on him the entire time he was gone and helped him navigate the situation–a familiar one that we had also gone through,” said Matt Jackson. “We also talked him down a few times. We gave him advice on how to succeed in Japan. It felt like he was our little brother. We saw him for the first time since All In, a couple days prior to the pay-per-view. We met him in our private jet, and talked endlessly the entire flight. We let him get it all out of his system, but assured him that this would be a fresh start. I was so thrilled to hear and see the groundswell for him when he appeared for the first time. It was like a rebirth for him.”

Regardless, The Elite will be squaring off against Bryan Danielson, Darby Allin and FTR in the Anarchy In The Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing on May 26th, so we’ll have to see how Perry and The Young Bucks work together on the show.
