The sight of tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite in the early start revealed the heartbreaking news of Eddie Kingston being injured by The Elite after their attack on him at the NJPW Global Resurgence event last Saturday.

This left their formidable foes for AEW Double or Nothing’s Anarchy in an Arena match, FTR and Bryan Danielson (Team AEW) without a fourth member on their squad. However, FTR addressed the situation and hinted at already finding Kingston’s replacement.

During the main event bout of the show, Elite member and current AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada defended his title against FTR member Dax Harwood. Following an amazing in-ring showdown, Okada retained his title and immediately after, The Elite came down for a post-match assault. While Cash Wheeler and Bryan Danielson joined the fray to fend off the attack, they found themselves outnumbered.

It was at that moment that the former TNT Champion Darby Allin made his return after undergoing multiple injuries, emerging from the crowd and attacking the entire Elite with his skateboard while being revealed to be the new fourth member of Team AEW for Double or Nothing.
