The sight of tonight’s edition of AEW Dynasty saw the crowning of the brand new AEW World Tag Team Champions in a high-stakes ladder after The Young Bucks unhook the titles and started their latest reign as the title holders, courtesy of a highly controversial AEW star who returned to the show.

The team of AEW EVPs, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson squared off against the dynamic duo of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, collectively known as FTR with two of the top teams in the tag division fighting for championship glory.

Both teams made their way to AEW Dynasty by defeating other teams in the AEW division as part of an elimination tournament and looked to establish their supremacy by winning the titles vacated by Sting and Darby Allin at AEW Revolution following The Icon’s retirement last month.

The match was everything the fans in St.Louis expected, being a sight of physical torment as both teams inflicted the use of ladders, tables, and chairs to put each other down and climb the top to grab the titles.

The Young Bucks destroyed Dax Harwood to the point of making him bleed and also taking out Cash Wheeler with the ladders and chair shots. But they came back and equalized with The Bucks trying to combat their fury.

However, the final moments saw the shocking return of Jack Perry in a Sting mask who emerged from the crowd and pushed Dax Harwood from the ladder and allowed Nicholas to climb up the ladder to unhook the titles with The Young Bucks becoming the first-ever 3-time AEW tag champions in historic fashion as Perry was escorted from the premises.
