Swerve Strickland Makes Unannounced Appearance at DEFY Here And Now Event

Swerve Strickland’s rapid ascent in AEW has been very remarkable, as he is now the reigning AEW World Champion. He also respects his roots in pro wrestling and that’s why he appeared during the recent DEFY show.

Swerve Strickland made a surprise appearance at DEFY Here And Now on May 10, taking a moment to reflect on his journey and the significant role DEFY played in it.

Expressing gratitude for the platform DEFY provided him, Strickland talked about the unique qualities that set DEFY apart. Recalling his memorable main event match against Cody Rhodes at the inaugural DEFY event, Swerve gave a nod to the Undisputed WWE Champion. He praised the current roster members and credited DEFY for kickstarting his ascent in the industry.

In a heartfelt address to the fans, Strickland thanked them for their unwavering support and declared it was time for the next generation to take center stage. He announced a free meet-and-greet session after the show, just so that fans can be happy.

Swerve Strickland also has to deal with Christian Cage, as the two will battle at AEW Double or Nothing, so we’ll have to wait and how AEW will book their feud in the coming weeks.
