Blair Davenport Vows to Show SmackDown She Is The Perfect Weapon After 4/29 WWE RAW

On the second night of the 2024 WWE Draft on RAW, SmackDown selected Blair Davenport, officially marking the end of her tenure in NXT. This was a significant moment for her, as she was drafted alongside top-tier talent like Ilja Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes.

In a RAW Exclusive interview, Davenport shared her thoughts on being drafted to SmackDown. Jackie Redmond commented that it seemed destined, and Davenport agreed.

“I feel like this job’s the only thing I’ve ever felt like I was meant to do. I never really fit in doing anything else. I had so many different things before I had this. Just to see that now I’m a part of SmackDown, I can’t even, I’m on a wave of emotions right now. This is honestly everything I’ve ever wanted. I’ve made my family proud, I know I’ve made all my friends back home proud, and it’s just really, really nice to see that everything I’ve sacrificed is finally paying off.”

When asked about her initial reaction to hearing her name announced, Davenport was in disbelief. “I was almost just like, is that me? Are they saying my name?” she said. Being included in the same group of NXT draftees as Ilja Dragunov, Carmelo Hayes, Lyra Valkyria, and Kiana James meant a lot to her. She explained that being on par with such top-tier talent was an honor.

“I was almost just like, is that me? Are they saying my name? I think Ilja [Dragunov], Carmelo [Hayes], Lyra [Valkyria], Kiana [James], they’re all such top-tier talent, and for me to be included in this draft, it means so much to me that I’m on par with those guys, and how they’re viewed.”

Lastly, Davenport was asked what SmackDown could expect from her. She was clear that she had already dominated NXT, but was eager to prove herself on SmackDown.

“I’ve already dominated NXT, but I’m very excited to show SmackDown that Blair Davenport is the perfect weapon.”

We will have to wait and see how WWE will book Blair Davenport on Friday Night SmackDown and whether she will find success there, as she was certainly a big deal in NXT.
