After months of heated arguments, back-and-forth assaults, and a huge triple-threat match that almost saw a title change at AEW Revolution, the dust finally settled on the rivalry between AEW World Champion Samoa Joe and Swerve Strickland on tonight’s edition of AEW Dynasty with the company now indeed Swerve’s house.

The two formidable rivals faced each other alongside Adam Page in the aforementioned match last month with Joe barely escaping with his title. Following that, Swerve had been on a quest to gain a one-on-one title shot, which he finally got for AEW Dynasty.

The dominant AEW World Champion, Samoa Joe, however, looked to prove that Strickland did not belong to his level and wanted to throw him back into obscurity in the one-on-one showdown at AEW Dynasty.

The action went jam-packed with the chills felt all over the arena in St. Louis Missouri for the highly anticipated main event with Joe and Strickland throwing everything at each other in their arsenal as the AEW championship hung in the balance.

After surviving all of Joe’s attacks, Swerve climbed to the top of the turnbuckle and planted the stomp right through his heart to pin him for the three count and become the new AEW World Champion in the final moments of the match and celebrating with his manager, Prince Nana and the audience of his house.
