Airing the footage appears to have misfired on AEW’s part.

Tony Khan might be reconsidering his move to confront CM Punk, as footage of the backstage altercation during All In London 2023 has been removed from AEW’s YouTube channel.

On the April 10, 2024 episode of Dynamite, viewers eagerly awaited the revelation of the altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry backstage at Wembley Stadium. Khan had asserted earlier that releasing the footage was solely for the purpose of entertaining the fans. However, many perceive this decision as retaliation for Punk’s remarks on the MMA Hour show.

It seems Khan has had a change of heart regarding the release of the footage, judging by the unfolding events on AEW’s YouTube channel. While a video of the Young Bucks’ segment, featuring the footage, has been uploaded, the ten-minute clip conspicuously lacks the All In footage, as evidenced below.

AEW may have intended to embarrass CM Punk by airing this footage, but if that was the plan, it has dramatically backfired. Not only have fans and industry insiders criticized AEW for broadcasting the footage, but the YouTube video has garnered over 25,000 thousands dislikes, which is significantly way more than the likes the video received.

Ultimately, the decision to air the footage has been made and cannot be reversed, despite AEW flagging several videos online that showcase the All In altercation.

While Khan may have initiated this move to address CM Punk’s comments to Ariel Helwani (another individual Khan has had disagreements with), it appears this situation has caused more harm than good for All Elite Wrestling.

What steps do you think AEW could take to address the fallout from the decision to air the backstage altercation footage, and how might they rebuild trust with fans and industry insiders moving forward? Let us know in the comments below.
