Roxanne Perez has undeniably emerged as the standout star of the NXT Women’s division and is even the NXT Women’s Champion now. She was victorious on RAW this week and now NXT, following which Perez made it clear she doesn’t need her heroes anymore.

Roxanne Perez has experienced an incredible series of events in recent days. It all began at NXT Stand & Deliver, where Perez emerged victorious over Lyra Valkyria to capture the NXT Women’s Championship for the second time. Following this triumph, Perez made her highly anticipated debut on RAW on April 8, where she secured another impressive victory against Indi Hartwell.

The momentum continued on the April 9 episode of WWE NXT, as Perez successfully defended her title by defeating Natalya, despite interference from Lola Vice.

In an NXT Digital Exclusive, Roxanne Perez shared her thoughts on her recent victory. Reflecting on her journey, she recalled a moment nine years ago when she sought guidance from Natalya during an appearance on ‘Total Divas’. Disappointed by Natalya’s response, Perez realized that she didn’t need her heroes anymore. She asserted her independence, declaring that all she needs is herself and her title. Reframing her victory over Natalya as a symbolic triumph.

“Nine years ago, a young, naive Roxanne Perez made an appearance on ‘Total Divas’, and I begged Natalya to give me advice. I begged her to show me the way of how to become a WWE Superstar, and what did Natalya do for me? Nothing. Nothing. So what did I do? Nine years later, I’ve realized that I don’t need any of my heroes anymore. I need Natalya. All I need is me, myself, and my title. Tonight, ‘The Boat’ hit ‘The Prodigy’, and it sank.”

We will have to wait and see whether Roxanne Perez will end up becoming a solid NXT Women’s Champion, as fans are certainly invested in her current heel character at the moment.
