As anticipation for WrestleMania 40 reaches its peak, WWE is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that this edition of the Show of Shows lives up to its prestigious legacy. Scheduled to take place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on April 6th and 7th, fans can expect nothing short of spectacular from this historic event. With that said, an intriguing development in the lead-up to WWE WrestleMania 40 weekend has surfaced with the company’s announcement of a notable name change for its shows.

WWE has unveiled its schedule for the upcoming week on its website, showcasing all the events and shows leading up to WrestleMania itself over the weekend.

In a notable shift, the pre-shows for WWE pay-per-views or Premium Live Events, traditionally branded as ‘Kickoff’ shows and airing an hour or two before the main event, have undergone a change. They are now labeled as ‘Countdown To (insert show name here)’.

The branding ‘Kickoff’ has been reserved for the event on Friday, which appears to mirror the format of previous pre-shows, such as the one held in February that set up The Rock & Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins, and a similar event preceding Elimination Chamber.

On the other hand, the more traditional pre-shows that will occur just before WrestleMania on Saturday and Sunday are now labeled as ‘Countdown To WrestleMania’. These ‘Countdown To’ shows will span two hours each night, starting at 5pm ET, followed by WrestleMania at 7pm ET.

On Saturday, Stand & Deliver will precede the Countdown To show, followed by WrestleMania. Meanwhile, Sunday will feature the return of the Slammy Awards.

Ringside News has also exclusively reported that the lineups for WrestleMania Saturday and Sunday have already been internally locked in. Therefore, we will have to wait and see whether the event will turn out to be a memorable one for both nights.

As the countdown to WrestleMania 40 gathers momentum, Ringside News stands ready to provide live play-by-play coverage of the event through our WWE WrestleMania hub. Stay tuned with us for all the latest updates, rumors, and spoilers surrounding WrestleMania.
