The show opens up with Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T welcoming us as we see the pre-show arrivals of Rey Fenix, EK Prosper, Tony D’Angelo, Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair.
Dion Lennox then makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night and Saquon Shugars follows.
Weaponized Steel Cage Match: DarkState’s Dion Lennox vs. Saquon Shugars
The match starts off with Dion Lennox throwing a trash can at Saquon Shugars. Shugars then hits a chop. Shugars then hits Lennox with a right hand. Lennox then uses a steel chair to punish Shugars. Lennox then sends Shugars into the steel cage multiple times. Lennox then punishes Shugars with his own belt. Lennox then hits a right hand for a near fall. Lennox then runs into a big boot. Lennox then sends Shugars’ lower body into the steel steps and Shugars is screaming in pain. Lennox then hits Shugars with another bodyslam. Shugars then hits Lennox with a trash can. Shugars then hits a missile dropkick to Lennox, who is trapped inside a trash can.
Shugars then hits Lennox with a steel chair. Lennox then sends Shugars’ body crashing through the steel chair. Shugars then tries to fight back, but Lennox sends him into the steel chair again. Shugars then attacks Lennox with a kendo stick, but Lennox nails Shugars with a right hand. Lennox then continues the assault on Shugars with a kendo stick. Shugars then sends Lennox into the steel cage. He is now throwing him around. Shugars then hits a high crossbody right to the face of Lennox. Lennox then picks up a kendo stick and targets Shugars’ midsection. Lennox then goes throat-first into the kendo stick.
Shugars then hits him with a backbreaker and he follows it up with sending Lennox face-first into the steel steps for a near fall. Lennox then hits Shugars with a Spinebuster through the trash can for a near fall. Shugars then takes out Lennox with a kendo stick. Lennox then throws a steel chair at Shugars’ knees. Lennox then pulls out a table in the middle of the ring. He then places Shugars on the top rope. Shugars then hits Lennox with a steel chair. His knee then gives out after he goes for a powerbomb off the top rope. Shugars then superkicks Lennox, who is trapped inside a trash can, also snapping the table in the process. Shugars then climbs the steel cage and hits a high crossbody for the win.

We then see Nattie and Jaida Parker with Thea Hail in the backstage area.
We then see Blake Howard with Tony D’Angelo. D’Angelo says before Zilla Fatu and Cruz Montana signed on the dotted line, it had been a big PLE after PLE for him. D’Angelo then gloats about being the only NXT Grand Slam Champion in history. D’Angelo then recalls putting down the future of WWE Oba Femi. D’Angelo then talks about the prestige of the NXT Championship, which is why every single man is going after his title. D’Angelo then says he beat three men to win this title and he will do it again to keep it.
Sarah Schreiber is then shown at a bowling alley with The Vanity Project, where they’re talking up their chances at beating Tavion Heights and Myles Borne at Heatwave.
We then see Nattie in the ring. Nattie says she came to NXT because she wanted to fight Jaida Parker. Nattie then says she saw something special in Parker and she knows she can knock her off her a**. Nattie then calls Parker a wasted potential despite being a million bucks in the ring. Nattie then says she was the best thing that happened to Parker. Nattie then says she gave Parker her attention.
Jaida Parker’s music then hits and she makes her way down to the ring. Parker says Nattie has been trying to prove to her that she is soft and that she doesn’t belong here. Parker then says she doesn’t think Nattie is special. Parker then says she sees through Nattie. Parker then says she knows this is not out of the goodness of her heart. Parker then says she doesn’t need Nattie and she should be thanking her instead. Nattie then says she doesn’t want a regular match. Nattie then says she wants to run it back in a submission match at NXT Heatwave. She then calls her a b*****. Parker then accepts the challenge and vows to kick Nattie’s a** at Heatwave. Parker then calls Nattie a b**** before walking off.
Kam Hendrix then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Keanu Carver follows.
Singles Match: Kam Hendrix vs. Keanu Carver
The match starts off with both men locking up. Keanu Carver then uses an inside cradle. Kam Hendrix then applies a side headlock in the middle of the ring. Carver then overpowers Hendrix and hits him with a suplex. He then hits a running crossbody. Hendrix then hits a clothesline to Carver in the corner. Hendrix is now in complete control of Carver. Hendrix then hits a showtime kick to Carver. Carver then tries to fight back, but Hendrix hits him with a chop on his back.
Carver then throws Hendrix around. He then follows it up with a running shoulder block, sending Hendrix to the outside. Hendrix then hits a thumb to the eye. Mason Rook then takes him out behind the referee’s back. Back in the ring, Carver hits Hendrix with a perfect-plex for the win.

Kelani Jordan then cuts a promo. Jordan says Oba Femi and others have followed her plan to success because she didn’t need a famous last name to get a head. Jordan then says no one does it like Lani.
We then get a video vignette to hype up Zilla Fatu’s in-ring debut at NXT Heatwave. Fatu says he carries his family legacy every day, but when it’s all said and done he will earn his success on his own. Fatu then promises to win the NXT Title at Heatwave.
ZARIA then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Kali Armstrong follows.
Non-Title Match (If Armstrong wins, she is added to the ZARIA vs. Wren Sinclair Title Unification Match at NXT Heatwave): WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion ZARIA vs. “Too Strong” Kali Armstrong
The match starts off with both women locking up. Kali Armstrong then applies a side headlock. Both women are now going back and forth with shoulder tackle attempts. ZARIA then finally puts Armstrong down and slams her into the canvas. Armstrong then hits a body slam. ZARIA then hits Armstrong with an elbow and she follows it up with a kick. ZARIA then clotheslines Armstrong in the corner and she follows it up with a back body drop. Armstrong then hits a series of strikes. Armstrong then sends ZARIA to the outside. She then heads to the top rope and she hits a high crossbody.
Back in the ring, Armstrong continues the beatdown on ZARIA. Armstrong then hits ZARIA with an Irish whip. Armstrong then drives her shoulder into the midsection of ZARIA. Armstrong then throws ZARIA around for a near fall. Armstrong then applies a rare chin lock in the center of the ring. ZARIA then tries to fight back and she applies a sleeper hold. Armstrong then with a reversal. ZARIA then hits Armstrong with a belly-to-back suplex. ZARIA is then pounding away at Armstrong. ZARIA then hits an elbow drop. Armstrong then runs into a big boot. ZARIA then hangs Armstrong off the top rope. Armstrong then fights out of it and both women are battling it out on the top rope.
Armstrong then hits a superplex and both women are down. Both women are now trading strikes in the middle of the ring. ZARIA then. hits a headbutt to the back of Armstrong. Armstrong then hits ZARIA with a powerbomb for a near fall. Armstrong then drives her shoulder into the midsection of ZARIA. ZARIA then hits a pump kick. ZARIA then hits a German Suplex. ZARIA then goes for a Spear, but Armstrong turns it into a powerslam. Armstrong then goes for a Kali Connection, but ZARIA hits her with a Spear. ZARIA then goes for an F5, but Armstrong rolls her up for the win.

We then head to Kendal Grey in the backstage area. She introduces William Sawalich to the medical assistant. He says Kendal Grey could suffer from hearing loss if she continues to take hits. Kendal Grey then asks if she is medically cleared. He then says she is, but she is playing with fire. Wren Sinclair then walks up to Kendal Grey and talks about facing Kali Armstrong and ZARIA in a Triple Threat Match at Heatwave.
BirthRight then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night. Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux are now in the ring and Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno make their way down to the ring next.
8-Man Tag Team Match: Romeo Moreno, “Supernova 11” Noam Dar, “Super” Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux vs. BirthRight (WWE Men’s Speed Champion Lexis King, Charlie Dempsey, Uriah Connors and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo)
The match starts off with Charlie Dempsey and Noam Dar and Dar gets a backslide. Dempsey then fights out of it. Dar then applies a side headlock. Romeo Moreno then comes in and he stomps on the back of Dempsey and tags Dorian Van Dux in. Van Dux and Lexis King are now going back and forth. Van Dux then hits an arm drag. Van Dux then uses Sean Legacy as a weapon to take out King and Stacks. He then throws Legacy into Stacks for a near fall. Legacy and Uriah Connors are now the legal men. Moreno then comes in and Connors hits a series of chops. Moreno then tries to fight back and he hits him with a thunderous chop. Moreno then runs into a dropkick.
Moreno then applies an ankle lock in the middle of the ring. Stacks then tries to run interference, but Dar stops him and puts him in an ankle lock. Legacy and Van Dux then take out Stacks and Connors with a crossbody. Arianna Grace then gets on the apron, allowing King and Dempsey to send the babyfaces to the outside. Connors then takes out Moreno with a superkick to the floor. Back in the ring, BirthRight continue the beatdown on Moreno in the corner. King then hits a backbreaker and Dempsey throws him around. Stacks then enters the fray and continues the assault on Moreno. A tag is then made to Connors. He then hits a chop to Moreno before tagging Stacks in.
Stack thens applies a chin lock to Moreno in the middle of the ring. Moreno then creates separation and tags Van Dux in. Van Dux then hits a flying clothesline to Stacks. Van Dux then hits a back body drop to Connors and he follows it up with a hurricanrana. He then sends BirthRight to the outside. Stacks then hits a kick, but Van Dux tosses him to the floor. Van Dux then launches himself off the top rope, wiping out BirthRight. Back in the ring, Van Dux then hits a Frog Splash. Legacy then follows it up with a 450 Splash on Stacks, but King breaks the fall. Dar and Dempsey are now going back and forth. Dar then applies an armbar. Connors then breaks the hold with a Swanton Bomb.
Stacks then takes out Legacy with a springboard back elbow. Van Dux then slams Stacks into the canvas. King then hits a blockbuster on Van Dux. Moreno then launches himself off the top rope, wiping out everybody. Legacy then hits a crossbody. Back in the ring, Dempsey hits Dar with a fisherman’s suplex for the win.

We then see Robert Stone talking to referee Vicky D’Errico. Stone tells her to be on standby ahead of the Heatwave summit. Keanu Carver then walks up to the NXT General Manager. Stone says he is thinking about a rematch after Mason Rook interfered in his match. Keanu Carver then turns him down. Shiloh Hill then walks up to Robert Stone and gets himself a match against Naraku next week.
EK Prosper then makes his way down to the ring for the main event of the night and Rey Fenix follows.
AAA World Cruiserweight Championship Match: Rey Fenix (c) vs. EK Prosper
The match starts off with both men locking up. Rey Fenix then applies a waist lock. EK Prosper then hits a big kick. Prosper then goes for a back slide, but Fenix counters. Fenix then hits Prosper with a series of chops. Prosper then hits Fenix with a standing dropkick, sending him to the floor. Prosper then hits a moonsault to the outside. Back in the ring, Fenix hits Prosper with a superkick for a near fall. Fenix then hits Prosper with multiple chops. Prosper then hits Fenix with a kick and follows it up with a DDT for a near fall.
Both men are now trading chops. Fenix then hits a knee to the midsection of Prosper. Both men are now exchanging strikes in the middle of the ring. Prosper and Fenix are now going back and forth. Fenix then hits Prosper with a standing dropkick and he follows it up with a roundhouse kick. Prosper then hits a springboard leg drop for a near fall. Prosper then follows it up with a Michinoku Driver. Fenix then hits a kick to the back of Prosper. He then follows it up with a running knee. He is now on the top rope and Fenix hits a high crossbody for a near fall.
Fenix then hits a Frog Splash for another near fall. Fenix then goes for a cutter, but Prosper counters with a German Suplex. Fenix then hits a cutter and both men are down and out. Fenix then hits a running knee. Fenix then goes for a Mexican Muscle Buster, but Prosper fights out of it. Fenix then hits a kick to the side of Prosper’s face. Prosper then hits a series of rights to Fenix. He then hits a hurricanrana from the top rope. Prosper then heads to the top rope and goes for a moonsault, but Fenix moves out of harm’s way. Fenix then superkicks Prosper and hits him with a Mexican Muscle Buster for the win.

After the match, both men embrace each other.
We then head to the back, where we see Tavion Heights asking Myles Borne to let him do the heavy lifting so he can save his energy for Jackson Drake at NXT Heatwave. Myles Borne then says the order doesn’t matter as they have two titles to defend. Tavion Heights then says he doesn’t know what he will do if they lose the NXT Tag Team Titles. Myles Borne then gives him a pep talk. Hank and Tank then walk up to them. They set their sights on the NXT Tag Team Championships. Tavion Heights then says they will see them around.
We then see Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair in the backstage area as the NXT Heatwave summit is next.
WWE NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey then makes her way down to the ring and she is accompanied by WWE Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair. Grey says she’s heard everything Kelani Jordan has to say. Grey then says she admits Jordan is good, but Jordan always make excuses. Grey then says no one knew who she was last year when she was in EVOLVE and now she is the NXT Women’s Champion. Grey then calls herself the benchmark of the NXT women’s division. Grey then gloats about beating Lola Vice in the NXT Underground Match. Grey then says she could have taken some time off after getting injured, but she didn’t.
Grey then says it’s time for Kelani Jordan to put her money where her mouth is. Grey then says the target is on her back and she better not miss this time. Kelani Jordan then makes her way out and says she put a target on Grey’s back. Jordan then says it’s only going to take her one shot to dethrone Grey at NXT Heatwave. Jordan then vows to take Grey’s title and put her a** right back to bench. Wren Sinclair then says they are going to bring home all the gold. ZARIA then makes her way out and calls her delusional. ZARIA then says she doesn’t care how many friends Sinclair brings to NXT Heatwave because she will put her down once again.
ZARIA then says the Women’s Speed Championship has haunted her and she will erase the title from its history. Kali Armstrong then makes her way out and says she beat both ZARIA and Wren Sinclair. Armstrong then says she’s going to win both titles at NXT Heatwave. Grayson Waller then makes his way out. Waller says the NXT Women’s locker room is great to look at, but hard to listen to. Waller then says he loves their energy and it’s great to see the 10% all in one ring. Waller then says they used to be the highlight of the show until he decided to come back. Waller then says the world is going to talk about one man and one thing and that is him conquering his demons to become the NXT Champion.
Tony D’Angelo’s music then hits and he makes his way out. D’Angelo says he doesn’t give a damn if this is Grayson Waller 2.0. D’Angelo then says Waller is going to be a disappointment. Cruz Montana then comes out through the NXT Universe. He says the difference between him and everybody else is that they all came here to talk and he came here to throw hands. Cruz Montana then takes out the security guards. An all-out brawl then breaks out in the ring. The fight between the three men then spills to the outside. ZARIA then hits Armstrong with an F5. Wren Sinclair then takes out ZARIA. Kendal Grey then lays out Kelani Jordan with a back elbow. Zilla Fatu then storms the ring and takes out everybody with a flying crossbody. Zilla Fatu then poses with the NXT Championship and stands tall as the show comes to a close.
