AEW made headlines with the unexpected release of several superstars from their roster in recent memory. The decision by AEW President and CEO Tony Khan to part ways with these talents has left many fans and insiders speculating about the reasons behind it.

The talents released from AEW thus far included stars like Dasha Kuret, Parker Boudreaux, Slim J, Gravity, Jora Johl, Jose The Assistant, and The Boys. Another name from this unfortunate list included former star Anthony Henry.

Henry is currently sidelined due to a broken jaw sustained during an independent wrestling match in March. As a result of this injury, both Henry and his partner, JD Drake were forced to withdraw from the AEW Tag Team title tournament. The former WWE NXT star’s last appearance for AEW was in mid-January. Prior to his injury, he had been making more frequent appearances alongside Drake on Ring of Honor TV.

Following his release which was separate from the cuts made on Monday, Anthony Henry took to his X to to express gratitude to the fans for their overwhelming support while being unsure if he would return to wrestling in the future.
