After making a grand debut in AEW, CM Punk’s time with the company came to an unexpected end when he was released last year. Shedding light on his departure from AEW, Punk has now disclosed the details of his interactions with Jack Perry.

In 2021, CM Punk made significant impact by joining AEW, quickly becoming a central figure in the promotion. His crowning achievement came at Double or Nothing 2022 when he secured the AEW World Championship. However, his reign was plagued by injuries, including a torn triceps and a suspension following the controversial Brawl Out incident at AEW All Out 2022.

Despite setbacks, Punk returned to the spotlight in June 2023 as a cornerstone of AEW Collision. However, his tenure with AEW came to an abrupt end due to an incident involving Jack Perry, leading to the termination of his contract. In a surprising turn of events, Punk made a dramatic return to WWE at WWE Survivor Series 2023, signaling a new chapter in his storied career.

While speaking to Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, CM Punk talked about his alleged backstage brawl with Jack Perry at AEW All In. Punk revealed what he told Jack Perry and then noted how he choked him somewhat.

“Please handle that. I’m not telling you what to do. Please handle it.” – CM Punk on asking Tony Khan to handle Jack Perry.

CM Punk: “Jack, why do you insist on doing this dumb internet shit on TV.”

Jack Perry: “Look buddy, if you got something to say lets do something about it. I didn’t punch anyone. I just chocked somebody. Samoa Joe was there.”

CM Punk is now content with his role in WWE, indicating his dissatisfaction with his time in AEW. Fans are now gaining insight into Punk’s perspective on his wrestling journey.
