Shawn Michaels Justifies Carmelo Hayes vs Trick Williams Main-Eventing NXT Stand & Deliver

While millions have been excited for a star-studded and action-packed night at WrestleMania 40, the fireworks will begin early at NXT Stand & Deliver. One of the biggest events of NXT is set to be hosted in the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia with a lot of anticipation built up among fans. 

Stand and Deliver is set to deliver some of the most intriguing matches of the brand. Though only four matches have been announced for the show yet, the match card seems to be stacked with interesting storylines. As announced last week, Carmelo Hayes vs Trick Williams is set to main event the show. 

However, with Ilja Dragunov vs Tony D’Angelo scheduled for the NXT Championship, the decision has been questioned by millions of fans. Addressing his decision, Shawn Michaels, during an appearance on the Busted Open Radio, stated that the story between Hayes and Williams deserved the main event spot. He also called their feud the deepest and the most passionate storyline on NXT currently. 

“They have been a joy, as Carmelo’s said many times. He and I hit it off right off the bat, And I’m telling you, after the last, you know, half a year, the year, the trick has been on the rise, since he walked into my office and said, you know, I want my, I want to give it a shot I want to get my shot. And he’s just one of the hardest workers I do. I dearly love both those two young men with all my heart. They have been fantastic. They’re a joy to the coaches and not just me, to everybody in NXT at the Performance Center And obviously, have earned this spot at WrestleMania at Stand and Deliver as the main event. This is the deepest, most passionate, most intriguing storyline in NXT. And I would argue in NXT history, and this is so deserving of the main event. And these two guys, I don’t know, earned it every step of the way. And I’m happy that they’re getting this opportunity.”

The WWE Universe has a lot of hopes from the first singles match between Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. However, this doesn’t overshadow the other incredible matches announced for the event. Ringside News will keep you updated with this story.
