Kenny Omega Endorses John Cena as Ideal Face of the Industry

Kenny Omega is one of the best professional wrestlers in the world right now and he has respect for his peers in the business as well. This especially includes John Cena, whom he has endorsed as the ideal face of the industry.

Kenny Omega and John Cena epitomize contrasting paths within the wrestling industry. Omega has built his reputation outside of WWE, notably in promotions like NJPW and AEW, while Cena spent nearly two decades as the quintessential face of WWE, proudly championing sports entertainment whenever the chance arose.

Despite their differences in career paths, Kenny Omega recently expressed admiration for John Cena during a Twitch stream. Omega praised Cena’s contributions to professional wrestling, acknowledging his significant impact on the industry.

”No, I have not [met Cena], but I think he’s great. Great professional wrestler. He’s done an incredible amount for the business, I don’t think anyone will be able to match anytime soon. The reason why is because Cena wasn’t doing anything for the sake of an accomplishment or trophy or recognition. People went out of their way after the fact to say, ‘look at all this stuff John is doing in his off time.’ Maybe he even laughs at it himself, but for the amount of effort he has put in to make people’s lives better, whether it be Make A Wish, fans at the arenas, or autograph signings, it’s a great example for what the face of a company should be or for the face of the industry. I’m a very big proponent of John Cena. I think he’s incredible.”

Cena hasn’t wrestled since losing to Solo Sikoa at WWE Crown Jewel 2023 but is waiting for an invite to WrestleMania 40. It remains to be seen whether Kenny Omega and John Cena will ever meet up in real life someday.
