Jim Ross, the legendary wrestling commentator, was the voice of several generations of fans, as he gave decades of his life to the business. He is now a major part of AEW and even signed a new deal with the company. In light of his new contract, it appears he actually earns more in AEW than he ever did in WWE.

It was previously reported that Jim Ross’ contract would be expiring this year. That is why Ross and Tony Khan started negotiations for possible contract renewal and fans hoped he would stick with AEW in the end.

That is what happened as Jim Ross signed 1-year deal with the company. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Jim Ross’s contract with AEW is for more money than he ever earned during his tenure with WWE.

He’s paid really well. He makes more money in AEW as an announcer than he ever made in WWE. It’s a great, great deal.

“Some people thought maybe he wouldn’t get signed, his deal ended on February 14, but they signed him, and I presume he’ll do big shows going forward.”

Jim Ross served on commentary for the last two matches of AEW Revolution, including Sting’s farewell match. We will have to wait and see when Jim Ross will appear on AEW television next.
