The Hardys have accomplished a lot in their career over the past few decades, as they have transcended the mainstream scene, especially Jeff Hardy. Therefore, it’s not a big surprise a top soccer player paid tribute to Jeff Hardy after scoring a last-minute goal.

In a thrilling finale on February 10, Tottenham Hotspur’s Brennan Johnson secured a 96th-minute winner against Brighton & Hove Albion. The 2-1 victory was crucial for Spurs in the Premier League.

Johnson’s celebration sparked online debate, with some speculating it resembled Brighton player Joao Pedro’s celebration from their February 3 match with Crystal Palace.

In an effort to clarify, Johnson addressed Spurs’ TikTok page, confirming that his celebration was a tribute to AEW star Jeff Hardy. After the game, Johnson made it clear he paid tribute to Jeff Hardy. Matt Hardy took to Twitter with a photo of Johnson as well.

“And the celebration is actually, if anyone watches WWE, Jeff Hardy my favorite WWE superstar, so yeah that one’s for him.”

Jeff Hardy will also be performing in concert during WrestleMania 40 weekend. Nonetheless, we will have to wait and see what the future holds for Hardy, as he will remain universally loved no matter what.
