AEW has gone through numerous changes over the past five years, but not all of them have been received well. A lot of backstage controversies plagued the company as well but now Swerve Strickland claimed that backstage morale is excellent in AEW.
The company has been at the very center of a ton of controversies since 2022’s All Out media scrum featuring CM Punk. Afterwards, a ton of backstage issues cropped up, as fans felt AEW had too much needless drama.
It didn’t help that the company also had somewhat questionable booking in 2023 and ticket sales continued to plummet. While speaking on the Smooth Vega podcast, Swerve Strickland addressed the current backstage morale in AEW.
The former AEW Tag Team Champion made it clear that backstage morale in AEW right now is simply excellent and the company has not faced any problematic incidents in a long time.
“Morale has been excellent. I haven’t seen any issues. I haven’t seen issues when morale was said to be down. I had a good time, the people I worked with had a great time. Name a work place that doesn’t have people having issues with what’s going on at their job in their position. People want to get better and move up the card. People want to get more TV time and to be the champion. People want a match with him or a match with her. That’s everywhere.”
AEW is gearing up for huge event dubbed “Big Business” at Boston’s iconic TD Garden, which was announced on Dynamite this week, so the company definitely has a lot of things planned for the coming months. We certainly hope 2024 turns out to be a great year for AEW.
