It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means! AEW Dynamite will go down tonight and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the February 7, 2024 episode.

AEW Dynamite Results (2/7/2024):

The show opens up with “Hangman” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland making their entrances for the first match of the evening, which is the AEW World Championship #1 Contender’s Match with the winner moving on to Revolution to face AEW World Champion Samoa Joe for his championship.

AEW World Championship #1 Contender’s Match For Revolution: “Hangman” Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland

The match begins with Hangman Page slapping Swerve Strickland and a brawl breaking out to the ring. Strickland then sends Hangman to the fans and follows that up by leaping over the barricade to lay Hangman out, but as soon as the fight returns to the ring it is Hangman that turns things around by stomping a mudhole on Strickland until Strickland answers back with a big boot.

Hangman then hits Swerve with a fallaway slam and he drops bombs on Strickland after pulling him away from the top rope. Strickland then focuses on the arm of Hangman, but Page fights back and hits Swerve with a lariat to the back of his neck. Hangman then slams Strickland on top of the barricade before hitting him with another fallaway slam, but this time on the floor.

Page then looks to end things as he attempts his Buckshot Lariat finisher, but Strickland thwarts Hangman’s attempt and gets thrown over the top rope with his back hitting the apron hard on the way down. Hangman then tries to hit a moonsault on Strickland, but Strickland avoids it and nails Hangman with a flat liner. Strickland then follows that up by flying over the top rope onto Page, then hitting him with a diving elbow to the back.

Strickland hits Page with the House Call, but he only gets a two count. Page and Swerve then head to the top turnbuckle, but as Hangman tries to put Strickland down, Swerve is able to turn this around and hit an enziguiri on Page. Strickland is not letting down as he continues his attack on Page and Hangman suddenly hits him with a Powerbomb, but it only keeps Swerve down for a two count. Swerve then stops the Buckshot Lariat attempt from Hangman and hits Page with a Lariat of his own before hitting the Swerve Stomp on Page, but Page kicks out at two.

Page makes his way out of the ring, but Strickland goes after him and hits him with a running boot. Hangman and Swerve then stand on the guardrail and Page hits a nasty DDT to Strickland right on it. Strickland then hits Page with a backbreaker, but Hangman kicks out once again. Hangman then makes his way to the top ropes, but gets pushed and has his ankle stuck, which allows Strickland to hit the Swerve Stomp. Hangman rolls onto the table outside the ring and it suddenly breaks.

Strickland then sets up another table and tries to hit a 450 inside the ring, but Hangman gets his knees up. Hangman then hits Swerve with a big lariat and follows it up with his Buckshot Lariat finisher, but Strickland gets his foot on the ropes. Hangman then hits a Deadeye and as Strickland falls to the floor, Hangman tells the official to count him out. Prince Nana then dances all around Swerve and that motivates Strickland to get back into the ring, but is immediately booted back out. Hangman then gets a chair and nails Nana with it, but he turns around and gets it kicked into his face.

Strickland then hits a Swerve Stomp on Hangman, but tweaks his ankle and Hangman turns his focus on that and twists it. Strickland then sends Page into the announce table and that leads to Hangman hitting the Deadeye on Swerve through the table. Strickland then goes for another Swerve Stomp, but Hangman moves. Hangman then looks to finish things off with his Buckshot Lariat, but Strickland reverses it into the JME Driver and just as he is about to win, the bell rings and time runs out.

The match is declared a draw.

After the match, Swerve gets on the microphone and says he didn’t go through all of that just for it to end like this. Swerve then asks for five more minutes, but Hangman points out that Strickland had to beat him to become #1 contender. Hangman also says Swerve will not be World Champion and he leaves the ring. Tony Schiavone then gets on the microphone and reveals that Tony Khan says it is not done and at AEW Revolution, it will be a Triple Threat Match for the AEW World Championship.

We then head backstage, where Renee Paquette is interviewing AEW World Champion Samoa Joe. Paquette asks Joe for his thoughts on what just happened in the match between Swerve and Page. Joe says he was happy at first, but is now furious that this has happened. Joe also says both men will suffer because of this.

“The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo then makes her way down to the ring and goes straight to commentary for the next match.

We then get the entrances for the next match, which is the AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Match.

AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Match: “Timeless” Toni Storm (c) vs. Red Velvet

The match starts out with Toni Storm attacking the arm of Red Velvet and taking her down with a headlock. Velvet responds with a leg lariat, but gets caught when Storm delivers right hands to her opponent and plants her to the mat. Velvet then hits Storm with a chop, but Storm answers back by putting Velvet through the mat.

Storm then nails Velvet with several punches, but Velvet responds with punches of her own before hitting the champion with a big dropkick and a bulldog. Velvet then drives her knees into the back of Storm and then hits a standing shooting press, but Storm kicks out at two. Velvet then gets tripped as she runs into the corner and Storm follows it up with the running hip attack in the corner. Velvet then goes for another big kick, but misses and Storm puts Velvet in an Ankle Lock, which forces Velvet to submit.

We then head backstage, where Renee Paquette is with AEW International Champion “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy, Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta. Cassidy says everything will be fine and they then give a medical update on Chuck Taylor as he is getting checked on right now.

We then get the entrances for the next match, which is the Trios Match.

Trios Match: Blackpool Combat Club (“The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta) vs. CMLL’s Máscara Dorada, Hechicero and Volador Jr.

The match starts off with Hechicero and Bryan Danielson as they go back and forth, but it is the luchador who takes control of the match first by almost pinning The American Dragon. Danielson then tags in Claudio Castagnoli, while Dorada gets tagged in for his team. Dorado’s offense has no effect on Claudio and while he tries to use his speed on Castagnoli, the BCC member just drops him to the mat. Dorada tries to mount offense again, but get put back down and Jon Moxley and Volador Jr. tag in.

Volador Jr. tries to use his speed against Moxley on the outside, but a brawl breaks out between all competitors. The BCC were then able to isolate Volador and they have been making frequent tags over the past few minutes. Castagnoli then works the arm of Volador Jr. and put the luchador in the Giant Swing. Moxley then enters the match and attempts a pinfall victory off of the Giant Swing, but Volador kicks out. Dorada then gets tagged in and he sends Danielson and Moxley across the ring with their heads colliding. Dorada then sends all BCC members out of the ring one by one and his partners then nail stereo topes, with Dorada hitting a springboard shooting star press to wipe everyone out on the floor.

Hechicero then spins Danielson around and hits him with a backbreaker, while Dorada delivers a 450 Splash, but the other BCC members break up the attempted pinfall. The luchador then plants Castagnoli only for that to be broken up by Moxley. Hechicero and Castagnoli then trading forearm strikes. 

Hechicero then attempts a knee submission on Castagnoli, but Danielson breaks it up. The luchadors then set up a submission on Danielson, but Moxley breaks that up. Danielson then sacrifices himself for Moxley, who hits a double lariat, but Hechicero answers back with a big knee strike to Moxley. Castagnoli then hits an uppercut on Hechicero, but Hechicero responds with the guillotine. The official then gets distracted in the corner, which allows Castagnoli to hit a low blow to score the 1-2-3.

We then head backstage, where it is shown that The Kingdom attacked Chuck Taylor.

AEW President Tony Khan then makes his big announcement and says the company is returning to Boston in March and it will be an important night for All Elite Wrestling as that night will be called “AEW: Big Business.”

We then get the entrances for the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: “The Ocho” Chris Jericho vs. “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita

The match starts out with Chris Jericho and Konosuke Takeshita going back and forth at each other and Jericho sending his opponent over the top rope. Don Callis then slaps Takeshita in the face and Jericho attacks him from behind, but Takeshita reverses it and sends Jericho crashing into the barricade and hits him with a brainbuster on the outside.

Jericho fights back and jumps down from the top turnbuckle to attack Takeshita, but Powerhouse Hobbs swipes Jericho’s leg and allows Takeshita to take advantage. Sammy Guevara then makes his way down to the ring with a steel chair to even things out and he attacks Hobbs. Sammy then hits a cutter on Hobbs and nails him with a chairshot directly to his head, which sends Hobbs into the audience.

Jericho then hits a springboard dropkick on Takeshita, which sends him to the floor. Jericho then flies from the top turnbuckle on Takeshita. Takeshita then overpowers Jericho and puts him down to the mat from the second rope. Jericho and Takeshita then trade forearm strikes and chops as Takeshita attacks the eyes of Jericho and nails him with a huge running kick, which bounces Jericho’s head into the ropes.

Takeshita then follows that up by flying over the top rope on Jericho. Jericho then tries to hit the Lionsault, but Takeshita gets his knees up. Takeshita then hits a delayed German suplex on Jericho, but Jericho counters a Takeshita Line with a Codebreaker. Jericho then goes for the Lionsault once again, but Takeshita grabs him and hits a Blue Thunder Bomb, but Jericho kicks out at two.

Jericho then slaps Takeshita and sets him on the top turnbuckle, but Takeshita slips under him and hits an avalanche Blue Thunder Bomb, but Jericho still manages to kick out at two. Takeshita then hits Jericho with the power drive knee, but Jericho counters that with his Walls Of Jericho finisher. Callis slides a chair into the ring, which distracts the official and leads to him hitting Jericho in the head with a screwdriver. Takeshita then locks in the Walls Of Jericho on The Ocho and Jericho has no choice but to submit.

We then get the entrances for the main event, which is the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tornado Tag Match.

AEW World Tag Team Championship Tornado Tag Match: “Absolute” Ricky Starks and Big Bill (c) vs. “The Icon” Sting and Darby Allin

The match starts off fast as Sting and Darby Allin doesn’t waste time in going after the champions. The fight then spills to the floor, with Big Bill sending Darby Allin into the barricade and Sting brawling with Ricky Starks into the fans. Sting then grabs a garbage can and attacks Starks with it. Big Bill then nails Allin with some big chops, but Allin fights back and Sting climbs up to hit a crossbody to both opponents.

They all fight their way back to the ringside area and Sting continues beating down on Big Bill, while Starks bounces Allin off the steel stairs. Sting then pulls out a chair and starts hitting both Bill and Starks with it, but the champions reverse. Bill then misses a running attack on Sting and hits the barricade instead. Sting then follows that up with a Stinger Splash, but Big Bill answers back with a lariat.

Allin then flies out and tries to hit Big Bill, but Bill catches him and slams him down to the floor. Allin then slaps Bill and that angers Bill even more, which leads to Bill hitting Allin with a bossman slam. Bill tries to put Allin through a table, but Sting fights both Bill and Starks. Bill looks for a big boot, but Sting evades him and Starks comes from behind, hits Sting with a Scorpion Death Drop and the pinfall gets broken up by Allin.

Starks tries to hit a high risk move, but his ankle buckle and Allin and Sting hit running splashes into Bill with Allin going for a Code Red. Allin then hits a Coffin Drop on the outside, while Sting locks in a Scorpion Deathlock. Bill and Allin then fight on the apron and gets the eyes, which leads to both men falling and crashing through the table outside. Sting then goes for a splash in the corner, but Starks evades. Starks then hits Sting with a Spear, but The Icon kicks out again. Starks looks for another spear, but Sting stops it, hits the Scorpion Death Drop and scores the win for their team for him and Allin to become the new AEW World Tag Team Champions.

After the match, Sting’s sons hop the guardrail and celebrate with their father on the apron as Starks looks very dejected. Taz then asks what this means as Sting is set to retire next month, while confetti rains down. The Young Bucks then appear from the back in white suits and matching baseball bats. The Young Bucks then take out Sting, Allin and both of Sting’s sons as Allin is split wide open and Allin’s blood is all over The Bucks’ suits. The Bucks then hit a BTE Trigger, which has been renamed to EVP Trigger.

The Bucks continue to attack the ribs of Sting with the baseball bats and they stand tall as commentary says no one has come out to help since The Bucks are EVPs and they must fear for their jobs. The Bucks then hold up the AEW World Tag Team Titles as the show comes to a close and Excalibur telling us The Bucks’ reputation is officially destroyed.
