WWE has big show planned for their January 1st episode, as they kick things into high gear. Things were incredibly exciting as a former World Champion’s return was promoted, but The Rock showed up to blow the roof off the building. The Great One also threw out quite a tease while he was at it.

Ringside News provided comprehensive coverage of WWE RAW’s January 1st’s Day One episode. They hyped a champion’s return, and that’s what they got.

The Rock responded to Jinder Mahal’s comments by asserting his pride as the People’s Champion and an American. He further taunted Mahal, stating that nobody likes him, and he’s not funny either.

It all came to a head when Mahal attempted to attack The Rock, but Dwayne Johnson swiftly countered with punches, his signature spinebuster, and a People’s Elbow, concluding the segment with an intriguing comment about dinner arrangements.

The Rock grabbed the microphone and really dropped a pipe-bomb. He asked the San Diego crowd, when he goes out to eat tonight, if he should sit at the head of the table.

This was an apparent reference to Roman Reigns. They also brought attention to it on commentary when they returned from commercial break. We will have to see if they change WrestleMania plans to put The Rock vs Roman Reigns on the card, but it doesn’t seem to be out of the realm of possibility.
