WWE RAW Day 1 Results (1/1/2024):

The opening package for the show airs.

Becky Lynch vs. Nia Jax

Becky Lynch’s music plays and she walks to the ring. Nia Jax’s music plays and she comes down to the ring.

The match starts and Lynch hits an enzuigiri. Jax comes back with a bodyslam. Jax attacks Lynch in the corner and follows it with an elbow drop. Lynch fights back with multiple strikes. Lynch attacks Jax in the corner.

Lynch stuns Jax and hits a dropkick. Lynch climbs the top rope and hits Jax with a missile dropkick. Cover! 1….2…kick out.

*Commercial break*

Jax trips Lynch on the ropes. She goes for a leg drop and misses. Lynch with a baseball slide dropkick. Jax goes for a punch and catches the ring post. Jax goes for the cannonball and misses. Lynch hits a leg drop off the top rope. Cover! 1…..2….kick out. Lynch locks in the disarm her but Jax powers out of it. Lynch locks in an armbar but Jax powerbombs her. Cover! 1…..2…kick out.

Jax climbs the turnbuckle but Lynch stops her. Jax with a Samoan drop off the second rope. Cover! 1….2…kick out. Jax slams Lynch on the mat. She climbs the second turnbuckle but Lynch shoves her to the apron. Lynch goes for a leg drop but Nia catches her with a punch. Jax hits the annihilator for the win.

Winner: Nia Jax

Cody Rhodes is headed to the ring.

Cody Rhodes’ music plays and he walks to the ring. Cody gets on the mic and says he is the first Superstar to come to the ring and welcome the fans to Day 1. He says he is a little stuck on Shinsuke Nakamura. He says Nakamura is a force to be reckoned in the ring. Cody says he is not stuck on Nakamura because of what he said about his family or because he tried to blind him but he is stuck on him because this should be over.

Cody says he is going to give him the opportunity to finish tonight and he calls out Nakamura who appears on the titantron and says he never thought it would be so easy to get in his head and become the author of his final chapter. He says he has pushed him to the brink. He says Cody’s story does not end tonight. He says he wants to give him one more week to dream. Nakamura says he will finish his story and close his book.

Kofi Kingston & Jey Uso vs. Imperium

Kofi Kingston’s music plays and he comes out to the ring. Jey Uso’s theme song plays and he walks to the ring.

Imperium’s music hits and they walk to the ring.

The match begins with Giovanni Vinci and Kofi Kingston in the ring. Vinci with a running crossbody. Vinci tags out and Kaiser attacks Kofi in the corner. Kingston comes back with a dropkick. Vinci trips Kingston and Kaiser tags out. Imperium double-team Kofi.

*Commercial break*

Kofi hits Vinci with a dropkick. The referee calls for the bell as Vinci seems injured.

The Miz’s music plays and he comes out to the ring.

Ivy Nile is warming up for her match against Rhea Ripley.

The Miz is in the ring. The Miz says his guests have been waiting to get on his show. He then introduces The Judgment Day. The Judgment Day’s music plays for a bit and then R-Truth’s music plays and he comes out to the ring.

The Miz ask where is everybody else. Truth says they were behind him. Miz asks if he is seeing invisible people and Truth asks if Lil’ Jimmy is here. Truth says all rise for the Judgment Day. Miz asks what is his role within Judgment Day. Truth says he has a lot of roles. Today he is doing PR work and last week he was doing Admin work. He says he is trying to make Jugdment Day likable to everybody. JD McDonagh comes out with Dominik Mysterio.

JD says Truth is not a part of Judgment Day. Dominik says they are the most dominant faction in all of WWE. Truth says Dominik is getting booed in his hometown and that ain’t right. Truth says JD is not in Judgment Day and asks him to go. Miz says since JD lost two weeks ago, he should leave.

Dominik says Miz spent 2023 on his back getting destroyed by Gunther. Miz says 2023 wasn’t that great but he has kept going through all the adversity. He says that the only moment he has of Dominik was of him getting spanked by Rey Mysterio. He says Dominik was beaten by CM Punk during the Holiday tour. Dominik says he is done talking and challenges them to a match. The Miz accepts the challenge. Truth asks if he is tagging with Dominik and Miz says he is tagging with him.

JD tries to attack him but he misses and The Miz knocks him out of the ring.

The Miz & R-Truth vs. JD McDonagh & Dominik Mysterio

The Miz knocks down Dominik. He goes to tag Truth but he is in the wrong corner. JD attacks him from behind. Dominik tags out. Miz with a hurricanrana. Miz tags out. Truth hits JD with a leg drop. Truth with a corkscrew crossbody. Truth goes to tag Dominik but he refuses and JD attacks him. Dominik tags in and hits a 619 on Truth.

*Commercial break*

The Miz hits a crossbody on JD. Miz hits a bulldog on JD. Cover! 1….2….Dominik breaks it up. Miz sends him out of the ring. JD tags in Truth. He hits JD accidentally and the Miz hits the skullcrushing finale for the win.

Winner: R-Truth and The Miz

Chelsea Green and Niven run into Kayden Carter and Katana Chance at a club and they pour drinks on Green and Niven after a back-and-forth exchange.

Women’s World Championship: Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Ivy Nile

Ivy Nile’s music plays in the ring and she walks to the ring.

Rhea Ripley’s music plays and she walks to the ring.

The match begins and Rhea knocks down Ivy. Ripley sends Ivy to the apron but she punches her and hits a crossbody off the top rope. Ripley kicks Nile in the face. Nile comes back with an hurricanrana. She then slams her to the mat.

*Commercial break*

Rhea goes to work on Nile. Ivy rolls out of the ring. She hits Rhea with a German suplex. Both women get back in the ring. Nile with the head scissors. She hits the jumping leg drop. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Nile with the tornado DDT. Cover! 1….2…..kick out.

Rhea comes back with a headbutt. Rhea climbs the top rope and hits a missile dropkick. Cover! 1…..2…..kick out. Rhea goes for the Riptide but Nile counters it and hits the gutwrench suplex. Cover! 1…..2…..kick out. Rhea knocks down Ivy and then slams her to the mat.

Rhea sets up Nile on the top rope but Ivy slips out and hits a German suplex on Ripley. Cover! 1….2…..kick out. Ivy kicks Rhea multiple times. Ivy climbs the top rope and goes for a crossbody but Rhea headbutts her and hits the Riptide for the win.

Jinder Mahal’s music plays and he walks to the ring. He gets on the mic and says he is a past WWE Champion. He says the only thing disappointing is what has become the USA. He makes fun of the fans. He says the country is a joke and he will unite them. He speaks in Punjabi and says the people booed their own national anthem in Punjabi. He says the fans boo him because he looks and speaks differently. He says he speaks with intelligence and he speaks the truth.

Jinder says he will tell them what the entire world is thinking of them in Punjabi. The Rock’s music plays and he comes out to the ring. The Rock gets on the mic and says Jinder is in trouble tonight. He says Jinder is right that he is not the Iron Sheikh. He says everyone loved the Iron Sheikh.

Jinder says The Rock appears every time the WWE Universe is being insulted. He says Rock should be ashamed of himself to represent the people. The Rock says he is proud to be the people’s champion. He says he is proud to be an American and he is proud to say he has come back to San Diego.

The Rock says the fans boo him because Jinder is the biggest a**hole walking on earth. The Rock says Jinder is always angry because no one likes him. The Rock says Jinder has the gall to call America a joke. He says America isn’t a joke to him or the fans. The Rock says tonight Jinder is the Day 1 douchebag.

The Rock says he is going to show him what unify means. He says one side of the arena is going to chant Day 1 and the other side will chant douchebag. The fans begin chanting Day 1 douchebag. The Rock says since Jinder loves the national anthem so much, he will sing him a verse from the national anthem.

Jinder attacks him. The Rock fights back and hits a spinebuster. The Rock hits a People’s elbow on Jinder who rolls out of the ring. The Rock gets on the mic and says he loves the fans and wishes them Happy New Year. He says he is going to go out in San Diego tonight and asks if he should sit at the booth, the bar, or the head of the table.

Drew McIntyre is getting ready for his match backstage.

Natalya & Tegan Nox vs. Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark

Shayna Baszler’s music plays and she comes out. Zoey Stark’s theme song plays next and she joins her and they walk to the ring. Tegan Nox’s music hits and she walks out. Natalya’s music plays next and she joins her and they walk out to the ring.

The match begins with Stark and Natalya. Nataly slams Stark and tags out. Nox kicks Stark in the face and tags out. Shayna tags in and kicks Natalya in the face.

Tegan tags in and attacks Shayna and Stark. She hits Stark with a running uppercut and then hits Shayna with a headbutt. Tegan attacks Shayna in the corner and climbs the top rope. She dives onto Shayna. Cover! 1….2…kick out. Shayna kicks her in the head. Natalya comes in and Stark attacks her. Shayna tags out and Stark hits the Z360 for the win.

Winner: Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark

World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre’s music plays and he comes down to the ring.

Seth Rollins’ music plays and he walks to the ring.

The match starts and Rollins attacks McIntyre. He sends Drew out of the ring. Drew fights back and slams Rollins on the announcer’s table. Seth with a boot to Drew. He goes for a suicide dive but McIntyre catches him and hits a bell-to-belly suplex.

*Commercial break*

Both men exchange chops and Drew knocks down Rollins. Drew hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Drew lifts Rollins and climbs the turnbuckle but Rollins escapes and he goes for the powerbomb but his back gives out. Rollins sends McIntyre into the post. Rollins dives onto McIntyre. Rollins sends Drew into the ring.

Seth with a tornado DDT. He climbs the top rope and hits a frog splash. Cover! 1…..2…..kick out. Rollins with a springboard moonsault but he misses. Drew climbs the top rope but Rollins hits him with a superplex and rolls through but McIntyre hits the falcon arrow. Cover! 1….2….kick out.

McIntyre hits the white noise from the second rope. Cover! 1…..2….kick out. Rollins with an enzuigiri to Drew. He goes for the stomp and misses. Drew hits the future shock DDT. Drew goes for the Claymore but Rollins hits him with the powerbomb. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Rollins goes for the phoenix splash and misses. McIntyre goes for the Claymore and misses. Rollins hits the pedigree. Cover! 1….2….kick out.

Damian Priest’s music plays and he comes out to the ring. Priest hits Rollins with the briefcase. He goes to cash in but McIntyre hits him with the Claymore. He then enters the ring and hits a Claymore. Cover! 1…..2….Rollins’ foot is on the rope. Drew drags Rollins out of the ring. He then picks him up but Rollins escapes and hits the pedigree. Rollins sends Drew into the ring and he hits the stomp for the win.
