Mercedes Mone’s name is still trending whenever she posts anything cryptic that might point. It appears that her pro wrestling future is up in the air once again.

Although it was thought that Mercedes Mone may make a return to WWE as Sasha Banks, money is now an issue. It appears that her status is no longer up in the up in the air anymore.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that they have spoken to people recently who believe that Mercedes Mone is going to end up in AEW after all. That being said, nothing is said and done until it is official.

Those that we’ve spoken to expect her to land in All Elite Wrestling, though nobody could confirm she’s signed on the dotted line. Of late in both WWE and AEW, there have been instances – specifically with Will Ospreay and CM Punk – where the physical contracts were not signed until the day of their appearances with AEW and WWE respectively. One source claimed that they heard AEW and Mercedes were close to agreeing on terms, but said “it’s never official until it’s official.”

It was previously noted that WWE and Mercedes Mone’s talks somewhat fell apart. Money is an issue there, because The Boss wants more of it. It appears that an AEW debut is not off the table. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported:

“She was absolutely talking with WWE. From what I was told, they were far apart on money. There was one person in WWE who said, “until she shows up and signs a contract, just remember what happened with Punk.” I was told that this afternoon, “just remember what happened with Punk.” I was told that by multiple people that they were far apart on money.”

Meltzer further added that another point of contention would be her acting career. In AEW, she could pursue that without any problems but in WWE that may not be the case.

“The other thing with her is she has other thing with her whether it’s acting or other companies she’s involved in that could be an issue. With AEW I think she would have more freedom to act, although WWE would probably give you more freedom now than under Vince because he’s such a controlling person. “

We also reported that the deal to bring Mercedes Mone is not dead idea. There are several things on the table at this point, but we will have to see how this situation pans out.
