Former WWE Superstar AJ Lee recently stirred up speculation about potential return to the wrestling ring with a training video she shared. Since her husband, CM Punk, made his WWE comeback in November, many fans have been eagerly hoping to see AJ Lee back in WWE as well.

The buzz intensified when fans began suggesting that AJ should enter the 2024 Royal Rumble match. In response, the former Divas Champion posted a video of herself training in the ring, alongside CM Punk, which added fuel to the speculation within the wrestling community.

Although the video was initially shared as part of a post about AJ’s role on the TV show “Heels,” it didn’t take long for rumors to start swirling about AJ’s potential return to in-ring competition.

In response to the rumors, AJ Mendez took to her Instagram Story to address the situation and assure her fans. She made it clear that she’s still retired from in-ring competition and wrote:

“I bumped for @heelsstarz & @cmpunk and then went back into retirement.”

AJ Lee’s last wrestling match took place on March 30, 2015, on WWE Raw, where she teamed up with Naomi (Trinity) and Paige (Saraya) to defeat Natalya and the Garcia Twins. WWE officially announced her retirement from in-ring competition in April of the same year.

In contrast, CM Punk made his much-anticipated WWE in-ring return at a Madison Square Garden house show on December 26, facing Dominik Mysterio. He also wrestled against Mysterio again on the December 30 show in California.
