Jim Ross is a WWE Hall of Famer and was the voice of several generations of fans, as he gave decades of his life to the business. Good ol’ JR has been with AEW since day one and is taking a break right now due to health issues. That said, he does hope he can return at AEW World’s End this month while he remains absent due to his health concerns.

It was previously reported that Jim Ross’ contract would be expiring soon. That is why Ross and Tony Khan started negotiations for possible contract renewal. Ross then made it clear he is optimistic about re-signing with the company.

It was then made clear Jim Ross would take break due to his health issues and he has been giving updates on his health since then. Ross recently made it clear he wasn’t sure about when he would return to AEW.

While speaking on his Grilling JR Podcast on AdFreeShows.com, Jim Ross provided an update on his health while he remains absent from AEW television. Ross noted that he is aiming to return at the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view on December 30th.

Well sooner than later…I know that’s not a very good answer. A date I have at the corner of my eye [and] thought about the pay-per-view (Worlds End) in Long Island. That’s a hope that I would be healthy enough and able to work and work to the level that I need to work. No, I don’t have a date. It’s just hard to plan. I don’t want to set myself up for disappointment. If I say I’m gonna do something and I say I’m gonna do it then it’s gonna get done but I can’t commit to that right now because I still got some ongoing health issues that need to be addressed and they are being addressed as I mentioned moments ago. It’s just a process, man.

I’m thinking that’s one goal [returning at Worlds End], I guess you could say. I don’t know. That would be on my radar, no doubt about that. Largely that’s up to Tony Khan and what he wants me to do and getting approval from the doctor so I can travel okay and deal with the swelling and all this other s***. I’ve just gotten used to the pain and I’ve gotten used to the discomfort.”

We will have to wait and see when Jim Ross will be able to get medical clearance for his return to AEW television, as his coming back at the Worlds End pay-per-view on December 30th would certainly make fans happy.
