Andrade El Idolo came with a lot of expectations for AEW and fans were excited to see what he could accomplish in the company. While his AEW tenure remains in question, Idolo has now been confirmed for his first CMLL appearance in 8 years.

On the 12/8 edition of CMLL’s event “Viernes Espectacular, it was officially announced that Andrade El Idolo will make his return to CMLL. He will be entering the mythical Arena México on December 15.

This will be his first appearance for the promotion since November 2015, when he lost to RUSH in a 2/3 fall match. Idolo is also competing in the Blue League of the AEW Continental Classic and is set to square off against Bryan Danielson in the 12/9 edition of AEW Collision as part of the tournament.

Andrade El Idolo’s AEW contract will also expire relatively soon, so we will have to wait and see whether he will end up sticking with Tony Khan’s company or if he will return to WWE next year.
