AEW has many plans in the pipeline, and they are getting things off the ground right now for one recent signing. The pro wrestling world was a bit shocked, and in dismay, at how nonchalant Mariah May debuted for the company. Tony Khan still has big plans for her.

Toni Storm is facing Hikaru Shida at AEW Full Gear with the company’s Women’s Title on the line. She also has a new obsessed fan in Mariah May, a signing from STARDOM who captured a lot of interest. WWE was interested in Mariah May as well, but now she is on a new All Elite direction with her career.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer broke down AEW’s current booking for Mariah May. The current plan is to make her a top star in the company, and the plan has her placed against Toni Storm, who may just be a champion again soon enough.

“The idea of this program, and I know a lot of people don’t like the Mariah debut and everything like that, and you know, obviously, it may not work. But, the idea of this Mariah program is to get Mariah to be a top star. I mean, it’s not like they’re bringing her in just to be a face like Willow Nightingale, you know what I mean? Who should be a top star, but isn’t. But, Mariah is there to be, look, Toni Storm should win the championship [from Hikaru Shida] and I don’t know how long she will hold it, but the idea is to get Mariah and Toni as a top feud in the women’s division.”

It was also noted that they brought up STARDOM in their angle. This brings more history to things, and it will build to where they are going from this point on.

We will have to see how long it takes for AEW to turn Mariah May into a top star for the company. She has a ton of abilities, and she also had the possibility of going to WWE. That being said, she decided to ink a deal with Tony Khan instead, but he plans on making her a top star.
