AEW Fans Accused of Driving Cody Rhodes Out of The Company

Cody Rhodes is certainly one of the most beloved stars in WWE right now. Cody’s stock continues to increase with every passing week, and that’s not going to change anytime soon. He was a major star in AEW, but that’s a thing of the past now. That said, AEW fans have been accused of driving Rhodes out of the company.

Cody Rhodes suddenly departed AEW in February last year, leaving fans in shock. Before his exit, Rhodes was a standout performer in AEW, helping put over numerous talent with his solid performances in the ring.

Before his AEW departure, Cody Rhodes was constantly booed out of the building every week, as fans demanded he turn heel. However, that never happened. While speaking on the Fight Nation podcast, Bully Ray talked about Cody Rhodes’ AEW departure and accused AEW fans of driving Rhodes out of the company.

”AEW fans have nobody to blame but themselves for the Cody situation. It’s as if AEW fans welcomed Cody with open arms and pushed him away. In my eyes, and don’t tell me about the Anthony Ogogo situation because Ogogo has f***** gone gone.

Those fans pushed that man out of that company. I’m not saying that’s the #1 reason why Cody’s out, there’s other reasons, but those fans started to boo him out of the buildings.

[Imitating fans] ‘We want Cody to turn heel and we’re not getting what we want, waaah.’

AEW fans know better than Cody does, than we do. The guy was the savior and all of a sudden he was public enemy #1.”

The American Nightmare also believes he should not have let certain AEW wrestlers beat him. Regardless, he is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in WWE right now and no one can deny that.
