WWE has a few interesting surprises that they can pull off to really shock audiences. Sometimes a big moment will leak early, but you can also never count WWE out when it comes to changing up their plans for the right moment.

AJ Styles was written off television as a part of an angle to sell LA Knight as John Cena’s replacement partner against the Bloodline. The Phenomenal One hasn’t been back since, but it was expected that would change this week. That may not be the case after all.

PW Insider noted that, while it was expected that AJ Styles will be on the show this week for his SmackDown return, that may not be the case. It was noted that WWE may have pushed back AJ Styles’ return to television.

While the original plan was for AJ Styles to return this week, we have heard that may have been pushed back.  We are working on confirming.

It was also noted that, “The expectation among some sources we have spoken with today is that Jey Uso will be at tonight’s Smackdown taping in Columbus, Ohio.” This could be quite a show this week, but AJ Styles may not be a part of them just yet.

Cody Rhodes has also been locally advertised for the taping, and it was reported that he will be there. Tonight’s episode of SmackDown could be a big one as the company continues their build toward Survivor Series.

What’s your take on WWE SmackDown’s plan for AJ Styles? Do you think they need to push his return back a bit? Let us know what you think about this in the comments section!
