CM Punk, a controversial figure in the pro wrestling world, has only seen his reputation drop over the past several months. After getting fired from AEW, fans have been wondering if he will return to WWE. Now it appears WWE dropped more CM Punk references on RAW this week.

For the past couple of months, WWE has made quite a few references to CM Punk on their programing. USA Network dropping blatant references further added to the speculation as well.

As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Seth Rollins cut a promo on Drew McIntyre. During his promo, he directly said “Cry me a river” twice, which was what Jack Perry said at AEW All In, leading to the brawl that got Punk fired.

In addition to that, Shinsuke Nakamura’s entire promo was essentially lyrics to Cult of Personality. Even Becky Lynch made a reference to one of Punk’s dialogues.

While WWE initially declined CM Punk’s return after initial talks, the former AEW star continues to drop hints about a potential comeback. Only time will tell whether Punk will end up returning to WWE somewhere down the line.
