AEW has a few members of their roster that they would like to rely on to keep the company going. Bryan Danielson is a huge player for Tony Khan, but his injury status has concerned some. Now, he is out of action with a broken orbital bone.

A short time later, it was confirmed that Bryan Danielson’s injury is very real. He will also be out of action for a while due to surgery. This is not anything that AEW wanted at all.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Bryan Danielson’s current broken orbital bone situation. This is a new injury for Danielson, but his concussion last year actually made Tony Khan worry that Danielson would never wrestle again.

I mean, he’ll do these incredible matches for a while, and then he gets hurt. He lays out for a couple of months and comes back. When he had the concussion last year, I mean there was fear that was it and he may not be able to come back. Tony Khan even said once that, you know ‘I was at this point that I may have to pay him for the remainder of his contract and just accept that, you know it’s over because of the concussion.'”

It was also noted that a really concerning part is that Bryan Danielson seems to be suffering from different injuries each time he’s out of action. This is not a good look, and it also makes things a nightmare for booking. There is no timeline for Bryan Danielson’s in-ring return at this time.

Claudio made it seem like he is going to take over for Bryan Danielson during his injury hiatus. Danielson’s injury required surgery, and now the waiting game is starting yet again to get him back in action.

Only time will tell how many more matches Bryan Danielson has left in him. He may not want to retire at this stage in his career, but so many injuries piling up on him may take that decision away from him. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that, so he can retire on his own terms this time around.
