AEW has made a few interesting decisions when it comes to their booking. Since the company opened, Tony Khan hasn’t been one to change around gimmicks very often, aside from the simple evolution of a character. It appears that one star went through a big change.

Dr. Luther was hired by AEW near the start of the company. The longtime friend of Chris Jericho’s also became a beneficial hand behind the scenes. Luther is still around, but he’s not the same.

AEW has not updated their official roster page to change Luther’s name. He is now listed as “Lutha” and his nickname is “The Butler.” That is quite a shift from the previous Chaos Project tag team with Serpentico.

We will have to see what’s next for Lutha in AEW. That new name also came with a fresh render, and it appears that he was given a black & white color scheme as well, which certainly sets him apart from a very colorful roster of talent.

Dr. Luther was quite a character. He also claims victories over Brock Lesnar and John Cena. Only time will tell what is next for him in AEW, but he is certainly still in the fold.

You can check out a screen grab from the AEW roster page below. This change was a bit of a surprise, especially since it’s been a while since he appeared on AEW television.
