WWE Highly Impressed By Recent Performance of Two RAW Superstars

WWE has a lot of things going on, but when a Superstar goes above and beyond in the ring, it still draws attention. It also seems that even the most veteran performers can still impress people internally.

We previously reported that WWE is pushing Ivar as a singles star, because Erik is out of action with an injury. Instead of having Ivar sit at home, or in catering, they are making good use of him.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that Ivar and Kofi Kingston have been praised after their recent performances. It was noted that Ivar had never been in a longer singles match, but he was able to pull off a ten-minute contest without any issues.

“Fightful sources had indicated that both Kofi Kingston and Ivar had received high marks for their WWE Raw matches of late. Their first match came as a result of Erik being sidelined. Viking Raiders and New Day had been slated for a lot of time for their two out of three falls match. Instead of cutting it when Erik got injured, they just had Ivar and Kofi Kingston wrestle the duration of the scheduled time.”

“The match got praise heaped on it. One producer noted that Ivar hadn’t had a singles match on WWE TV in nearly five years that went over ten minutes, and said that not only did he not miss a beat, he impressed many backstage.”

It was also noted that “follow-up matches with Xavier Woods and Viking Rules matches with Kofi Kingston also gained praise, and caused WWE to remain open-minded on using Ivar in a singles capacity.”

We will have to see what is next for Ivar, but he certainly seemed to impress people backstage in WWE. Kofi Kingston is a former World Champion, so the praise might not be anything new for him to hear, but this is certainly good news for 1/2 of the Viking Raiders.
