Carlito was one of better known WWE Superstars during his time in the company, where he won championship gold a few times. Carlito returned to WWE television during Fastlane last week, much to the delight of fans in attendance. Now he has officially been added to the Smackdown roster after this return.
WWE Fastlane 2023 took place at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis and had the fans at the edge of their seat throughout. This included Carlito making his surprise return as LWO’s mystery partner. Carlito also picked up the win for his team with a jaw-dropping Backstabber.
WWE have now added Carlito to their active roster page on their site, officially confirming him as a member of the Friday Night Smackdown roster. They also updated his bio for good measure.
Son of legendary competitor Carlos Colon, Carlito emerged in WWE in October 2004 as an exceptionally opinionated Superstar who projected a smooth demeanor.
Armed with an apple in hand, The Southpaw from San Juan wasn’t afraid to unload a mouthful of apple and spit it into your face if you were not cool in his eyes. That said, Carlito also had the ability to unload a serious arsenal onto any opposition at the drop of hat.
Carlito made headlines on his very first night on SmackDown when he defeated John Cena for the United States Championship. He would go on to capture the Intercontinental Title and unify the WWE and World Tag Team Titles alongside his brother Primo at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.
Reemerging in WWE at Backlash 2023, Carlito exploded back onto the scene by joining forces with Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar to defeat Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits in a Six-Man Tag Team Match.
Carlito signed a deal with WWE over the Summer, but the company dropped the original plans for Carlito months ago. Ringside News exclusively reported that his return has sparked high hopes and big plans from WWE. It remains to be seen how Carlito will be booked in the coming weeks.
