Edge left WWE, and it didn’t take long for Adam Copeland to arrive in AEW. That WrestleDream debut made a lot of noise in the pro wrestling world, but AEW kept that big moment a secret from event their own network.

During his backstage podcast behind Fightful’s paywall, Sean Sapp noted that Warner Bros Discovery contacts he spoke to hadn’t been informed that Adam Copeland was on his way. That being said, it was probably a surprise.

“Some Warner Bros Discovery contacts I spoke to, a lot of them were in the dark about Edge’s debut.”

AEW might not have wanted to kill the surprise about Adam Copeland’s WrestleDream debut, but a lot of people expected it. It was also noted that some people may have been informed, but a majority had no idea. After all, we previously reported that many AEW talent considered it “the worst kept secret in pro wrestling.”

We’ll have to see what Adam Copeland does next, but AEW is certainly going to make good use of him. Warner Bros Discovery will probably be very happy about The Rated R Superstar’s signing, because he is going to appear on AEW Dynamite and Collision this week.
