Shawn Michaels Says the Door Is Open for CM Punk at WWE NXT

CM Punk was fired from AEW, and he has a ton of controversies surrounding his name. It seems that he may have an open invitation from NXT if Shawn Michaels was the only guy calling the shots.

Shawn Michaels recently took part in a conference for the media before No Mercy. During that time, he was asked whether he would ever have CM Punk in NXT. The Heartbreak Kid’s response might have caught some fans off-guard.

“Of course we’d welcome him in NXT, I don’t know if he’d want to do it here, he’d want to go to the main roster.”

Shawn Michaels went on to say that he always liked CM Punk, because he always “understood” CM Punk. He’s a “different type of cat,” and HBK admitted that may be why he identifies with him.

It was also made very clear that the call to have CM Punk in WWE is not Shawn Michaels’ to make. He would 100% like to have CM Punk in NXT, “but I don’t think that they’ll let me.” Then HBK commented to say that he will let us know if that comment gets him in trouble.

We previously reported that Impact Wrestling is intrigued by the idea of making an offer to CM Punk. There is also the possibility that he could show up in the NWA and challenge for their World Title.
