WWE released several people from their talent contracts over the last week, and Matt Riddle was the most recent to join them. Now, The King of Bros is without a contract, but you can never say never in pro wrestling. Then again, some people, like CM Punk, might have already sealed their fate.

During Wrestling Obsever Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about the possibility of CM Punk or Matt Riddle returning to WWE. During that talk, it was noted that WWE management still have bad feelings about Punk, but the same is not true for the Original Bro.

“There’s a lot of people with bad feelings in management about CM Punk in WWE, but there’s nobody in management with a bad feeling about Matt Riddle.”

We will have to see if Matt Riddle makes his return to WWE. At this point, he could have interest in MMA, but he has yet to make any public announcement about his career plans. He could go to AEW, but Matt Riddle also has a lot of controversy around him.

Matt Riddle’s release from WWE brought on another controversy, and it unfolded on X. His ex-girlfriend spoke out and said that she was elated by the Original Bro’s firing. Riddle’s fiancé, Misha Montana, fired back to put his ex in her place. Then his ex stated that his problems really started when he met his current Montana.

Odds are, Dana White won’t give Matt Riddle another chance. He famously ripped into Riddle’s marijuana smoking in a heated promo nearly a decade ago.

CM Punk and Matt Riddle might be controversial figures who stepped foot in WWE and UFC, but they are not alike in a lot of ways as well. Only time will tell if Matt Riddle returns to WWE, but at this rate it looks a lot more probable than the Second City Savior’s return.
