WWE released another crop of talent this week, and many fans were shocked to see Dolph Ziggler’s name on that list. John Cena even commented after Ziggler’s release, and so did The Rock. It appears that the Show-Off could have big interest elsewhere.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that Dolph Ziggler has a real shot in AEW. He certainly has connections with people within Tony Khan’s company. After all, Vince McMahon never saw Ziggler as a huge main event star.

“Vince never saw him in the way that other people saw him, although he did have a good career there, and he made a lot of money. You know, there’s more guys like that.”

Dave Meltzer later stated that “it’s going to be interesting to see what Tony does with these guys.” It was stated that Mustafa Ali and Dolph Ziggler as “two guys that they will probably bring in” to AEW. That also begs the question of how many former WWE guys that AEW needs at this point.

“I’ll put it this way, the first week Dolph shows up [in AEW] there’s gonna be a giant, giant pop. But, you know, does it maintain? What ideas do you have? And he’d probably gonna want to get paid a good amount of money, he’s not going to do it cheap.”

Dolph Ziggler has a few friends in AEW, including his own brother. Only time will tell if Tony Khan gives the Show-Off a call, but he will have to wait until his 90-day non-compete clause is over.
