AEW Grand Slam is going down next week, and they are doing everything they can to sell tickets for the show. Tony Khan was roasted by fans for trying to boast about his company’s accomplishments, but they are still planning the best show they can for Arthur Ashe Stadium.

AEW might have a surprise planned for fans attending Grand Slam this Wednesday at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City. The event already boasts a stacked card including MJF vs. Samoa Joe, Saraya vs. Toni Storm, Jon Moxley vs. Rey Fenix, Claudio Castagnoli vs. Eddie Kingston in a Title vs. Title Match, and Chris Jericho vs. Sammy Guevara.

Matt Cardona hinted at a potential appearance to confront Santana. This was thrown out there after Santana jumped Cardona following a successful House of Glory Title defense against Homicide.

“I should be celebrating right now a big win over Homicide at House of Glory. Still your House of Glory Champion. I’m at the beautiful Holiday Inn Express, but Mike Santana. Santana is back. Had to show up on the indies, get a little pop ski to trend on social media. I probably didn’t trend, though. Mike, stay in AEW. First of all, your name is Mike. That’s news to me. Stay in AEW. Okay. Stay on Saturday nights. Wednesday nights. Stay away from the Indies. And that goes for everybody in AEW. Stay out of my world. I am the indie God. Okay. But, Santana, if you want me to come to your show, I can. Well, not on Saturdays because I’m booked, but on Wednesdays, I can come, and I’ll show you who the true king of New York really is.”

Cardona’s message led to a response from Santana in return. He posted on X to quote repost Cardona’s message along with his own reply: “You ain’t coming to MY CITY and spewing your “Indy God” bullsh*t. Now you gotta cash those checks that your mouth was writing. DADDYs HOME. PAY YOUR RESPECTS.”

After his WWE tenure ended during the pandemic, Matt Cardona briefly appeared in AEW before rebranding himself in Impact Wrestling. That was only a six-match deal, one he arranged with Cody Rhodes’ help, but Cardona hasn’t been back since. We’ll have to see if he makes an appearance at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Matt Cardona’s wife, Chelsea Green, is enjoying a run in WWE as 1/2 of the Women’s Tag Team Champions. That is a nice spot for her, and it has also made many fans wonder if he may join her as well.
