CM Punk Allegedly Right Up There With Roman Reigns In Terms Of Star Power

Roman Reigns is Head of the Table in WWE, and nobody has been able to topple him yet. If you ask Dax Harwood, CM Punk is right up there with the Tribal Chief.

After his comeback at AEW Collision in June 2023, Dax Harwood drew a comparison between WWE’s Roman Reigns and CM Punk. The spotlight on CM Punk has recently intensified due to several AEW personnel encountering difficulties accessing the Greensboro venue for AEW Collision.

Dax Harwood spoke to DAZN Wrestling, saying that CM Punk is one of the greatest of all time. His track record precedes him, and it also puts him in the conversation of greats, right along with Roman Reigns.

“I think that Punk is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. You look at his track record, his resume, and the things that he’s done in professional wrestling, especially when the business at one point was completely against him and what he represented and who he was, and he made a name for himself and became one of the biggest stars our industry’s ever seen …

“[AEW] having, in my opinion, … up there with Roman Reigns, the biggest name in professional wrestling today only helps everybody else and the company because it’s bringing more eyeballs to the product.

“He also has something to prove. I don’t think he’s come back just for nostalgia as a nostalgia act. I think he’s come back to reclaim his spot as the ‘best in the world.’”

Although FTR and CM Punk are very close, Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the Top Guys are still okay with the Young Bucks. That is why the two teams are battling at All In London, in a match some didn’t think would happen. CM Punk will take on Samoa Joe during that Wembley Stadium show, and there is a lot going on behind the scenes.

CM Punk might have also had few AEW stars sent home from Collision. That is another matter entirely. Only time will tell what is next in this drama-filled situation, but FTR is still standing firmly behind the Second City Savior.
