Austin Theory is steadily building his reputation as one of WWE’s up-and-coming talents, showcasing his skills on television each week. After winning the United States Championship, Theory was given more emphasis as a champion. However, he dropped the title to Rey Mysterio on Smackdown this past week and it appears he finally commented after the fact.

Santos Escobar was scheduled to challenge Austin Theory for the United States Title this week on Friday Night Smackdown. However, plans changed as he suffered an injury ahead of the match and ended up being replaced by Rey Mysterio.

The Master of the 619 wasted no time in establishing dominance and defeated Theory to become the new United States Champion, as the LWO and the fans in attendance celebrated.

The former United States Champion to Twitter for the first time since losing his title and uploaded a photo of himself, as he made it clear he didn’t let the loss faze him in any way.

Theory held the US Championship for 258 days and will remain in the record books as one of the longest-reigning United States Champions of all time. We’ll have to see whether he will invoke his rematch clause on Rey Mysterio soon.
