Matt Cardona Wears WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship During Indie Event

Matt Cardona was released from WWE as part of the company’s massive pandemic firings. That being said, he hasn’t ventured back to WWE, but his wife, Chelsea Green, certainly has. Now, Cardona has an extra piece of hardware around the house thanks to his wife’s recent WWE Women’s Tag Team Title win.

WWE has big plans for Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green, a team that was placed together when Carmella was taken out of action due to her pregnancy. Deville filled that spot, and now they are WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Matt Cardona obviously has access to his wife’s title belt. He posted a photo of himself holding Chelsea Green’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Title belt along with a very entertaining caption. This photo also came from a DDT Pro event, as he tagged with Stephanie DeLander.

Matt Cardona went on to defeat Tetsuya Endo to win more gold, ironically winning the DDT Universal Championship. So, it was quite a night for him.

No, Matt Cardona is not really 1/2 of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, but he has to be very proud of his wife’s accomplishments. Only time will tell what is next for Chelsea Green, but she is apparently having a great home life with Matt right now.

We will have to see how long Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green hold onto their Women’s Tag Team Titles in WWE. If anything, fans should probably expect to see a lot more from WWE’s resident Karen and her backup.
