Gable Steveson’s insane performance at the Tokyo Olympics back in 2021 made him a household name. Because of this, he eventually signed with WWE he finally got some use during NXT this week. Now it appears he will be taking a break after his appearance on NXT television.

After a lot of teases and speculation, WWE managed to sign Gable Steveson to contract a couple of years ago. He was already drafted to Monday Night RAW as part of the WWE Draft. He also got physical during WrestleMania 38 Night 2 but didn’t do all that much after that.

That changed after he started appearing on NXT television. During this week’s show, Gable Steveson hit multiple German Suplexes and impressed fans in big way. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Steveson is preparing for the UWW World Championships in his sights in September.

Due to this, Steveson is already set to take a break to train for the competition, which will take place in Serbia. He secured his spot on Team U.S.A. with a win over Michigan’s Mason Parris at Final X in June.
