Gable Steveson won an Olympic Gold Medal and he is just getting started. WWE wanted him in big way and Vince McMahon went all out to sign him. Now it looks like McMahon’s efforts paid off.

Steveson tweeted out eariler today that he was signing a deal. This caused a lot of people to look his way. McMahon wanted him in a big way, but there was other competition from the UFC and even the NFL.

Dave Meltzer reports that Steveson has inked a deal with WWE. It is unknown when he will start or whether he is 100% with the University of Minnesota’s wrestling team.

No start date or other details were given. It’s unknown if he is done at the University of Minnesota where he won two Big Ten Conference titles and was a two-time All-American.

Steveson and Paul Heyman are close and they have teased a partnership. Gable also made an appearance at SummerSlam where he got to experience a live WWE crowd. The next time he is in a WWE ring things could be a much different situation for him.
