AEW President Tony Khan is truly passionate about the business and runs the company to the best of his abilities. After all, Tony Khan simply wants what’s best for the company no matter what. Outside of pro wrestling, Tony Khan has other fields to keep himself busy with. Reports suggested that he and his father Shad Khan were interested in purchasing Bellator MMA. Now it appears Khan denied the rumors.

In case you did not know, Tony Khan is the owner of both the Jacksonville Jaguars as well as Fulham F.C. Therefore, Tony Khan has a lot of things to manage by himself and he tries to juggle everything as much as possible.

Ariel Helwani recently reported that Tony Khan and his father Shad Khan were interested in purchasing Bellator MMA. The MMA promotion is currently owned by Paramount as well.

While speaking during the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Media Call, Tony Khan shot down the report that he and his father have any interest in purchasing Bellator MMA.

“I was surprised to see that report. I haven’t had any conversations with them about that. I don’t know what that was about. My father hasn’t had any conversations with them either. I don’t even know who owns the promotion. Is Scott Coker the owner, the President? I’m not sure. I’m familiar with Bellator. I’m familiar with MMA. I’ve never worked professionally in the space, other than having some stars from UFC appear at times in AEW.

I saw that report, and there’s really nothing to that. I’m not sure where that rumor got started. I’ve honestly never had any talks, and my father has never had any talks, about buying Bellator, so I was surprised to see that. Was that someone Ariel Helwani reported? It would not be the first inaccurate thing Ariel Helwani has reported. That is completely inaccurate, but that’s Ariel Helwani for you.”

WWE and UFC are now under one merged company under Endeavor, but it appears AEW will not follow suit and do a similar deal with Bellator MMA. Regardless, Tony Khan is focused on the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event and that’s all that matters to him right now.
