Fans were eagerly waiting for CM Punk’s return on the debut episode of Collision, as it marked the first time he appeared on AEW television since All Out last year. Punk was clearly the main draw for the show and it is safe to say the show garnered a lot of fan interest.

CM Punk started the show with a long promo where he addressed a lot of things. The Second City Saint made it clear that he is not giving back the AEW World Championship, which he never lost.

CM Punk and FTR also competed in the main event, in what was a hard-hitting contest. Punk’s team would win in the end. The debut episode was a resounding success in a major way.

Dave Meltzer provided insight into the interest for AEW Collision on the Daily Update. According to Meltzer, Collision was the No. 10 most searched topic on Google yesterday and had a good rating.

Collision was the No. 10 most searched topic on Google yesterday, although the number was listed was 20,000. That would seem to indicate a good rating.

I expected a good number with the debut of a new show that has been promoted for a month and C.M. Punk’s return being heavily promoted as well.

It’s more about the staying power past the novelty but all indications I had was interest in this show was high.

We will have to wait and see whether CM Punk and The Elite will be able to work together somewhere down the line, especially after the shot he took at The Bucks. Regardless, only time will tell if Collision will end up being a consistently good show.
