In an exciting development for AEW, former Impact Wrestling star Jimmy Jacobs has officially joined the AEW backstage team.

It was earlier reported that Jacobs made surprise appearance at the recent AEW Dynamite event in Washington, DC and has signed with the company on a full-time basis. This move comes after Jacobs had been working with Impact Wrestling since 2017 and played a significant role on their creative team.

Jacobs’ addition to AEW’s backstage staff adds another experienced mind to the creative process. Prior to his time at Impact Wrestling, Jacobs had served on WWE’s creative team from March 2015 to October 2017. However, his tenure with WWE ended abruptly when he posted a photo of himself with the Bullet Club during their non-televised “invasion” of RAW, leading to his release.

AEW’s recruitment of Jacobs follows their recent enlistment of Bryan Danielson and Will Washington, who are also contributing to the creative process for the highly anticipated AEW Collision event.

Meanwhile, Impact Wrestling had been aware of Jacobs’ impending departure for some time. According to PWInsider, the company had already made preparations to fill the void left by Jacobs on their creative team. It has been revealed that Hunter “Delirious” Johnston, formerly a booker for Ring of Honor, has been brought in to replace Jacobs. Johnston’s experience and expertise in the wrestling industry make him a suitable addition to Impact’s creative staff.

The departure of Jacobs from Impact Wrestling was described as “absolutely amicable.” Despite his impending move to AEW, Jacobs continued to fulfill his duties diligently during the transition period, earning praise from Impact for his professionalism.

With Jacobs now fully dedicated to AEW, the company looks to benefit from his wealth of knowledge and creative insights. His contributions, alongside the efforts of Bryan Danielson, Will Washington, and others, are expected to enhance AEW’s programming and provide fans with compelling storylines and memorable moments.

As AEW Collision approaches, anticipation continues to build, and the new additions to the creative team indicate AEW’s commitment to delivering an unforgettable event.
