WWE Superstars have three brands that they can travel around, and the options seem to be wide open at this point. There are also several free agents after the 2023 WWE Draft who can travel wherever they want at this point. That makes jumping from brand to brand much easier for them.

Triple H and Shawn Michaels work out much better in terms of communication between WWE and NXT. It seems that the flow of talent is much smoother than it was with Vince McMahon in control of the entire operation.

Sean Sapp dropped a note behind his paywall about WWE’s process of bringing main roster talent to NXT. We recently saw Baron Corbin come back and catch a lot of attention in a main sport on the roster. Mustafa Ali also recently returned to the brand for another run.

WWE sources that Fightful Select spoke to said there were tentative plans in place quite a while ago for Baron Corbin and Mustafa Ali to both work NXT, one of the reasons that the free agent tag was put on them. That same source said “despite a lot of things from the previous regime that made that cynicism around the free agent tags understandable, there was more of a plan for them this time.”

There were several NXT talent who specifically had requested to work with Mustafa Ali, and word we got was that Ali was more than happy to oblige. The goal for these appearances is to add interest in NXT, help refresh Ali and Corbin, assess the talent they’ll be working with, and get experience for NXT talent with people who have worked main roster TV and style for quite a while.

It was also noted that, “we’ve been told that Ali and Corbin will continue working NXT, but that it isn’t a completely permanent move, and can still appear on Raw and Smackdown when needed.”

We will have to see how things pan out for Baron Corbin and Mustafa Ali on WWE NXT. Odds are, this could be the beginning of a lot of different Superstars making cameos in NXT for a run on the USA Network every Tuesday night.
