WWE has a lot of fans all over the globe, and now those passionate members of the WWE Universe in India will have something to look forward to. After years of ignoring the country on their tour schedule, WWE is returning to India.

WWE had an event slated for India last year, but they needed to cancel it. This was due to ongoing television talks for WWE’s home network in the country. The Zee-Sony television merger just didn’t work out with WWE’s timing. It was widely believed at the time that WWE would reschedule their Indian event when that issue cleared up.

During a conversation on MoffettNathanson conference talk, WWE CEO confirmed that WWE is going back to do a live event in India this September. He did not disclose any further details. Brandon Thurston tweeted out to inform his followers of the big news.

WWE CEO Nick Khan breaks some news right now at MoffettNathanson conference talk. He says $WWE will do a live event in India this September.

It was not indicated whether this upcoming Indian live event will be a RAW or a SmackDown show. It was explicitly reported that India will get a live event, so it’s not likely that fans in America will get to see if, since it’s not a premium live event.

Only time will tell if India gets a premium live event, much like WWE has done for other countries. It remains to be seen where in India this September event will be booked, or which venue they will occupy, either.
