Bronson Reed was released by WWE back in 2021, in a move that certainly took fans by surprise. Reed was let go because the company believed Reed simply didn’t fit the new vision of NXT. After a year away from WWE, Bronson Reed finally made his return in December last year. Now it appears Reed explained why he rejected an NJPW offer to return to WWE.

Following his WWE release back in 2021, Bronson Reed tore it up in Impact Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he became a force to be reckoned with inside the squared circle.

Bronson Reed even went on to face Kazuchika Okada at Declaration of Power 2022, which turned out to be his last match in NJPW as he chose not to re-sign with the company again.

While speaking on Out Of Character with Ryan Satin, Bronson Reed stated that he felt as if he stamped his name in NJPW following his match with Okada. Now Reed is back in WWE to do the same thing there, which is why he opted to return to WWE.

“That chapter is shut, and now I’m back in WWE and I want to do the same thing. I want to come to WWE and wrestle guys like Bobby Lashley, maybe future world champions, and things like that. Stamp the Bronson Reed name here in WWE

I got to ‘NXT,’ I had become North American Champion, but I never got to be on a ‘Raw’ or a ‘SmackDown’ or do any of the Premium Live Events like a Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, Backlash, any of those things.”

Bronson Reed was part of the battle royal on Monday Night RAW this week to determine the #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship. However, he was unable to win the match after Mustafa Ali threw him out. We’ll have to see what’s next in store for him.
