WWE SmackDown presented new rosters for the blue brand after the 2023 Draft. They also determined SmackDown’s representative in the World Heavyweight Championship match at Night of Champions. That being said, they went without a massive name backstage.

Ringside News reached out to ask about the ending of SmackDown this week. The main event match between Bobby Lashley and AJ Styles didn’t have a lot of time at all, and the ending felt rushed. A long time production staffer informed us that Triple H was not there to run the show this week..

We were told that, “Levesque was not at TV this week.” The reason for his absence was blamed on “a corporate commitment.” Although Triple H wasn’t there, they still had two people responsible for running the show backstage.

The timing was squarely on Bruce and Ed Koskey, but it’s Prichard’s responsibility more than Koskey’s.

Triple H wasn’t at SmackDown this week, which marks the first week we’ve heard that he’s missed any WWE television since being appointed as the new Chief Content Officer of the company.

We will have to see if Triple H misses any more weeks of television. Vince McMahon also wasn’t at SmackDown this week, but he rarely makes the blue brand’s live television taping events.

What’s your take on Triple H missing SmackDown this week? Did the show feel different for you? Sound off in the comments!
